That is the focus of the new exhibit at the Cable Natural History Museum. Join us for the grand opening of our new annual exhibit, STAR POWER: Energy from the Sun, on Saturday, May 26, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm You will journey down the Photon Pathway to discover the secrets of photosynthesis, the drama of energy flow through ecosystems, and the dinosaur plants that power our homes. Feel the heat as you see how our Sun drives the wind and the rain! At the nuclear fission station, you will develop a new appreciation of Einstein's famous equation (E=mc2) and its pivotal role in your life on Earth. In addition to interactive encounters with the science of energy, the exhibit touches on both new and old ways that we harness the Sun. Windmills and wind turbines, lumber mills and hydroelectric dams, root cellars and geothermal wells all play an important part in the cultural history of Northern Wisconsin.
